Courage for Beginners

Everything is going wrong in Mysti's life. As she prepares to enter seventh grade, her hopes for a great year are shattered as everything begins to fall apart. Her best friend has abandoned her, her father is in a coma after a bad accident, and her mother still never leaves their home. Mysti has always imagined herself to be a character in a book but, with the way everything is going, her story doesn't look like it will have a happy ending. Will she be able to find the courage she needs to face the challenges in her life?
What an inspiring story! I think that a lot of readers will be able to relate to some of the issues that Mysti is dealing with. Those who like realistic fiction, particularly stories that deal with friendship and family situations, will enjoy this book. I've always been a huge fan of realistic fiction and this book was one that I couldn't put down once I started reading it.
